TCP is the protocol that became the foundation of the internet. It uses IP packets to achieve reliable streaming. Loss recovery (retransmission control) detects and recovers from packet loss to ensure reliability. Moreover, congestion control adjusts transmission speeds according to the degree of network congestion. These controls enable communication that emphasizes reliability.
